We cordially invite you to join the TER-2022 Transnational Education Conference 2022 (TER-2022) to be held Online via Microsoft Teams and hosted by International Business School on 7-8 October 2022. The TER-2022 is a peer-reviewed international event offering a venue for novel research and scholarship as well as debates on current practices, policies, scholarship, and challenges. Empirical studies, conceptual debates, case studies, research and grant proposals can be presented and discussed in the TER-2022. TER-2022 Transnational Education Conference 2022 is a professional and academic gathering focusing on scholarship and practice in higher and further education. The 2022 edition of the conference is focusing on the prospects in the post-COVID-19 era.

TER-2022 is an affiliated event of Transnational Education Review (TER), an international peer-reviewed journal facilitating scholarly exchange on education and cross border implications, practices and policies involving researchers, policy makers, practitioners, agents, donors, families and students as key stakeholders. Like the Journal, TER-2022 welcomes all contributions on education in the broadest meaning. Presentations focusing on transnational education and the international dimension are particularly encouraged by the Conference.

Transnational education is defined by UNESCO and CoE as “all types of higher education study programmes, or sets of courses of study, or educational services (including those of distance education) in which the learners are located in a country different from the one where the awarding institution is based. Such programmes may belong to the education system of a State different from the State in which it operates, or may operate independently of any national education system.” However, we consider a much wider scope for the Conference. Not only cross border programmes and activities but cross border impact and potential of educational practices and scholarship are all invited to the Conference.

With the long lasting impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, transnational education, especially in open and distance learning has gained more importance. Transnational education has been an important revenue stream for many institutions around the world while many other countries remain ambitious about it. Therefore, the TER encourages contributions on practice, policy, governance aspects and financial aspects of expanding market of transnatioal education, development and international cooperation.

We invite participants from all disciplines and subdisciplines of Social Sciences and Economics with relevance to Education, Pedagogy, governance, practice and policy making in education. There will be parallel sessions, workshops, and roundtable debates, meet the editors sessions and exhibitions.
